Who are we?

The Society is a group of volunteers who are interested in the conservation and remediation of the ecosystem of the Charlie Lake watershed, such that it can better meet the needs of the natural and human communities.

Where are we?

Charlie Lake is located in northeastern British Columbia approximately 9 km northwest of the City of Fort St. John. The lake is 14 km long and covers over 2000 hectares. Charlie Lake is a favorite spot for many activities including, boating, fishing, and swimming, plus many winter activities. It is home of Charlie and Beatton Provincial Parks and the Ross H. Maclean Rotary Park.

What is our mission?

To promote conservation efforts for Charlie Lake and its watershed by providing a forum for gathering, sharing and coordinating information for the purpose of developing a comprehensive management plan that will protect, preserve, enhance and support conservation efforts for Charlie Lake and its watershed to the benefit of all.

How did we start?

The Charlie Lake Conservation Society was granted society status by the province of British Columbia on January 20, 1997 and has been involved in various conservation projects.


Join Our Efforts

The Charlie Lake Conservation Society provides environmental information and community activities in great part due the valued participation of volunteers like you. Please consider joining and being part of the Society. You will enjoying meeting new people and working together to enhance the beauty of Charlie Lake and its watershed.

Annual membership fees are $10. Any donation  is gratefully accepted.
